What is Pee Chong? Year clashes, explained
Pee Chong is the Thai-Chinese practice of checking whether your zodiac animal clashes with the year, or with another person.
What it is
Chong comes from the Chinese word for clash. On the twelve-animal zodiac wheel, the animals opposite each other clash most directly: Rat and Horse, Ox and Goat, Tiger and Monkey, Rabbit and Rooster, Dragon and Dog, Snake and Pig.
A Pee Chong year is a year whose animal clashes with yours. Thai temples also publish fuller lists each year that include animals in a weaker clash.
How owners use it
In a clash year many people make merit or join a kae chong ceremony at a temple. Some owners also check clashes before taking on a partner, a key hire or a large client, and choose a better start date when there is one.
How the Fortune Intelligence bots use it
The Clash & Compatibility bot checks the birth year of new contacts, hires and partners against yours and flags a clash. It never blocks anything: it holds the note for you to weigh, and can suggest better start dates.
