What is BaZi? The Four Pillars, explained
BaZi, the Four Pillars of Destiny, describes a person from the year, month, day and hour of their birth.
What it is
BaZi means "eight characters". Each of the four pillars (year, month, day and hour) is a pair: a heavenly stem and an earthly branch. That makes eight characters in all.
Each character belongs to one of the five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. The stem of the day pillar is called the day master and stands for the person; the rest of the chart shows which elements are strong, which are weak and how they meet each day.
How owners use it
Owners who follow BaZi look at their own chart and at each day’s pillar before launches, hires and signings, to see which days suit them and which element a day favours.
How the Fortune Intelligence bots use it
The BaZi Reader keeps your chart, made from your birth date and time, and reads each day’s pillar against it every morning. The Fortune Chief of Staff puts the result in your morning brief, next to your calendar, so you see it before your first meeting.
